Security

FLIR Systems has announced FLIR United Video Management System (United VMS) 9.0, a major update to its flagship video management system software that provides security professionals with enhanced user experience, more secure network security and full security system component control

The FLIR United VMS solution family includes the FLIR Latitude VMS software, as well as Horizon and FLIR Meridian Network Video Recorders (NVR), which is compatible with the new 64-bit release.

FLIR United VMS is an open platform solution that supports numerous cameras and edge devices with great efficiency. FLIR United VMS, which consists of the FLIR Latitude network video management system and FLIR Horizon and Meridian NVRs, accurately matches installations of any size and helps to reduce ownership costs.

It also supports both visible FLIR and thermal security cameras, including the new A400-EST and A700-EST cameras for applications for elevated skin temperature screening.

“Video management systems are the backbone of effective security and surveillance programmes, and the latest United VMS 9.0 update will help professionals manage facility safety and improve efficiency and security,” said Daniel Gundlach, global business development, solutions business at FLIR Systems.

“United VMS is customisable and scalable for any size deployment in critical infrastructure including data centres, utilities, oil and gas, and airports,” he added.

FLIR United VMS 9.0 offers a modernised user experience with new dark mode for control and management centres as well as simplified menus and window viewing. By focusing and magnifying within the video image, the thumbnail search with digital zoom helps users to further refine areas of interest.

The introduction of timeline scrubbing directly in the video pane further streamlines operations. This software update incorporates advanced forensic functionality for smooth event playback, improved sync playback, reverse playback, and recording resilience.

The new FLIR Health Monitor tool helps large enterprises to maximise system uptime and adhere to compliance guidelines. It provides system status in real-time and includes server, service, and cameras information. The application is built directly into United VMS and connects to the FLIR Cloud, allowing access to data by multiple users anytime, anywhere.

FLIR United VMS 9.0 is hardened with cybersecurity to meet the evolving threat landscape today. Improvements to cybersecurity include new password policy, unsecured camera blocking policy, a mechanism for loading certificates and secure communication between VMS services.

The scalable and flexible architecture efficiently supports systems of any size and can be implemented across multiple sites, cities, and continents throughout an enterprise.
