The MEP Middle East Awards is the premier event for the mechanical, electrical and plumbing sector in the United Arab Emirates to award individuals and companies and acknowledge the latest innovations, processes and technology
According to Construction Week Online who covered the 10th annual MEP Awards, which took place at the Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina on 16 November 2016, BK Gulf emerged as the big winners on the night.
The MEP contractor collected four award. These were Mechanical Project of the Year for Dubai Opera, Mechanical Engineer of the Year for Alin Empure, Electrical Engineer of the Year for Abegail Habunal and Plumbing Engineer of the Year for Muayyad Abu Khashabeh.
Winners of other awards included Trans Gulf Electromechanical who won MEP Contractor of the Year. They also retained the Health and Safety Initiative of the Year which they initially won at the 2015 awards.
The other winners were; Future Metro, GCC Project of the Year for Lapita Hotel, SEMCO, Plumbing Project of the Year for Sila Community Hospital, Leminar Air Conditioning Company, Supplier of the Year, Atkins, MEP Consultancy of the Year, Arabian MEP for Retrofit Project of the Year for the Athletes Village of 2004 Doha Asian Games retrofitted to Hamad Medical City and Godwin Austen Johnson for Sustainable Project of the Year for Arcadia Preparatory School.
