The International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) has announced that Matthew Cox of the Bauer Spezialtiefbau Group of Companies, has accepted an invitation to be coopted onto the Council as a Trustee
His name will be added to the formal ballot for Trustees at the next AGM.
Matthew is a fellow member of IIRSM and is currently employed as Regional QHSE manager, overseeing Bauer’s operations across the Middle East. Matthew has been a member of the institute since 2010 and also fulfils the role of UAE branch chairman.
Matthew will take up the post immediately and join the trustees responsible for the governance of the charity, under the leadership of its current President, Andy Hawkes.
Trustees of IIRSM represent the interests of the Charity and ensure it meets its objectives to advance education and competence in the field of risk and safety management.
Matthew said, “I am delighted to accept the invitation to serve as a Trustee of the Institute and look forward to working with my fellow Council Members. With an ever growing international membership, having representation from key growth areas will help to ensure the governance model of the Institute reflects this changing landscape.”
Hawkes commented, “After observing Matthew’s sterling work on the UAE Branch Committee, I’m certain he will be a great Trustee of the Institute. I look forward to working with him to ensure good governance remains a priority for IIRSM and our charitable aims are served effectively.”
