Alubond U.S.A has set up a six million sq m of A2 production capacity in UAE to increase A2 fire resistant (FR) panels output
The new plant in Sharjah, with an investment of US$13.61mn, is a first in the UAE and second in Middle East after Turkey. According to the company, Alubond U.S.A is the only A2 brand in UAE and Middle East to have obtained the Dubai Civil Defence certification. The new production lines add to its existing A2 panel production facility in Turkey, the first in the region. This will make Alubond U.S.A the largest producer of A2 fire resistant panels in the Middle East.
In the wake of the UAE fire incidents, it was the first company to come forward and announce zero tolerance for production of non FR panels. Alubond U.S.A is the first brand in the Middle East to be successfully certified for A2 fire rated cladding panels. It is the first Aluminum composite panel in the UAE marke, to have tested successfully for the complete Aluminum composite wall systems, according to the American test standards for. This has resulted in Alubond U.S.A. being fully compliant with the Fire and Life Safety Code as laid down by Dubai Civil Defence.
Shaji Ul Mulk, founder and chairman of Mulk Holdings, brand owner of Alubond U.S.A., stated, “Alubond U.S.A ® stands for quality fire resistant aluminium composite cladding products. We would like to set an example for other products in the cladding industry and build a new era of fire-resistant and accident-free cladding products. We hope the industry players will follow the trend, taking a cue from this.” Alubond has an existing two million sq m capacity, state-of-the-art production line in Turkey for A2 FR panels, and will add three lines of two million sq m capacity in its Sharjah production facility, taking its total capacity of A2 FR panels to eight million sq m per year.
