Oilfiled services provider AlMansoori Specialized Engineering has been awarded the HSE Initiative of the Year award at the Oil and Gas Middle East awards last week in Abu Dhabi
The company was awarded for its continuous support in educating its workforce on healthy living. The leading global causes of death are cancer, diabetes and heart disease, which are occurring at alarming rates in the UAE. According to the company, AlMansoori’s aim is to help its employees reduce these diseases by improving their health and encouraging them to practice prevention.
The company has implemented an innovative approach to health through its flagship programme Health Monitoring Management System (HMMS). The system is designed to evaluate and classify the health of every employee, as well as promote wellbeing and disease prevention. The employees are also offered health, diet and lifestyle consultation.
Through its HMMS, AlMansoori has witnessed:
• Five per cent decrease in the number of employees who smoke
• Nineteen per cent decrease in high blood pressure
• Forty per cent decrease in high cholesterol
• Two per cent decrease in diabetes rates
• Fifty seven per cent decrease in cholesterol levels
• Thirty four per cent of employees reduce their weight
• Thirty five per cent improve their blood sugar levels
Ibrahim Al Alawi, deputy CEO at AlMansoori, said, “At AlMansoori, we believe prevention is the key to maintaining optimal health and education is the most important aspect.
