Fall protective and rescue equipment introduced by 3M

3M personal safety portfolio has expanded to include two new rescue devices designed for those working at height within oil and gas sector

The Latchways Personal Rescue Device (PRD) with 3M Elavation Harness is a lightweight device that offers users an unassisted self-rescue from heights up to 20 metres, while the 3M and DEUS Escape and Rescue System allows workers to steadily control their descent from heights of up to 180 metres.

3M Personal Safety Division product marketing manager Andrew Johnson remarked, “These two new solutions are easy-to-use, which is critical when time is of the essence.”

The 3M and DEUS Escape and Rescue Systems help provide safety for workers in industries including electrical distribution, utilities, wind energy, oil and gas, general industry and manufacturing, while the Latchways PRD is located in a lightweight backpack, which is activated by pulling a parachute-type cord.
