Ring, provider of neighbourhood security solutions, has collaborated with Hitches and Glitches (H&G), a Dubai-based home maintenance company and a part of the Farnek Group, to provide Ring smart home security solutions in the UAE

As part of the collaboration, H&G will retail Ring products via its online store and install Ring’s smart home security products in residential communities in the UAE.

“In recent years, in the Middle East and like elsewhere in the world, people are no longer depending on just others to provide safety to their homes, families and neighbourhoods. They are taking home security into their own hands to help protect and secure their family and property,” said Mohammad Meraj Hoda, vice-president of business development at Ring for the Middle East.

H&G will retail and install a number of Ring products including the Floodlight Cam, the first motion-activated security camera with two-way audio, HD video, built-in floodlights and a siren, the Spotlight Cam Battery, a long-lasting battery-powered HD camera with two-way audio and a siren, the Spotlight Cam Wired with two-way talk and a siren solution and Ring Video Doorbell 2 that helps you communicate with visitors from anywhere.

In a pilot programme with the Los Angeles Police Department in the US, Ring’s Video Doorbell was able to reduce crime in a Los Angeles neighbourhood by more than 55 per cent.

The company further added that Ring’s products have been featured in the US television series Shark Tank and within a year was on Time magazine’s list of the top 10 gadgets. The company endeavours to reduce crime in neighbourhoods and have evolved as the leading brand in the home security space, represented by more than 18,000 stores across North America.

H&G will initially provide Ring’s security solutions to its database of more than 10,000 homeowners and tenants across the UAE, initially targeting those in residential areas, particularly villas and those with freehold and leasehold properties in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
