GJD releases new infra-red security beams

Security

British security equipment manufacturer GJD has announced the release of a new type of infra-red security beam

Consisting of a separate transmitter and receiver available as 60 or 100 metre dual beam and 200 metre quad beam, GJD’s Active Edge beams are a reliable choice for highly effective outdoor and indoor perimeter protection, the company said.

Designed to minimise false alarms without compromising security, the equipment only activates alarms and CCTV cameras when the selected combination of beams have been breached, and can be mounted above pet height level, so that animals can be present without setting off an alarm.

GJD’s Active Edge beams are also designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, further minimising nuisance alarms, and making them particularly well-suited to application in the Middle East.

Mark Tibbenham, managing director of GJD said, “GJD’s Active Edge Dual and Quad Infra-Red Beams are proven to deliver precise and effective detection solutions, as well as being simple to install and setup”.

The technology is designed to detect people as well as objects, such as moving vehicles, and is suitable for use in a wide range of sectors.
