Avon’s compact thermal imaging camera gains NFPA approval

Fire Safety

Claimed to be the smallest thermal imaging firefighting camera in the world, Mi-TIC S, has met certification criteria of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)

Mi-TIC S features large format, high resolution display for advanced fire fighting applications. The camera allows a person to clearly view both extremely high temperatures up to 1100ºC and very low temperature objects, which is ideal for casualty searches in fire fighting. The camera weighs 870gm and is designed to fit in the palm of a hand.

The camera has met the NFPA 1801:2013 standards which specifies design, performance, testing and certification requirements for thermal imaging cameras.

Avon Protection regional sales manager Mark Ridsdale noted, “The Mi-TIC S is the lightest large screen camera ever developed and we are delighted it now has NFPA 1801 certification. The camera is already in service with many fire and rescue services, having been selected as the best tool for the job.”
