Held under the theme ‘Effective Communication for OSH Culture Building’, the five-day event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of creating a healthy, safe and sustainable work environment for all.

The agenda included workshops, training sessions, lectures and presentations, organised in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health Centre (OSHAD).

The events explored a host of OSH-related issues, involving Tadweer employees from Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra regions, as well as 130 representatives from various environmental service providers and contractors.

Salem Al Kaabi, acting general manager of Tadweer, said, “As the entity mandated to implement Abu Dhabi’s integrated waste management strategy, Tadweer is dedicated to building a sound OSH culture and adopting industry best practices to ensure continued compliance with the Abu Dhabi Occupational Safety and Health System.”

“In line with this priority, OSH Week 2019 serves as an ideal platform to step up our engagement with our key stakeholders, identify current challenges and develop a road map to improve our existing OSH practices,” he added

“At Tadweer, we firmly believe that an effective OSH culture enables us to achieve our objectives and enhance the performance of our departments and divisions while also shaping a safe and healthy workplace. We have a solid regulatory framework in place that reinforces our employees’ awareness about their respective roles in taking preventive measures to protect themselves and others from work-related hazards and injuries,” he stated.

Throughout the year, Tadweer runs various initiatives and awareness campaigns to educate its staff and vital stakeholders on global best practices in the field.
